A LETTER FROM THE FUTURE - YA Fantasy
Alex is a seventeen-year-old boy who attends high school on his native Isle of Pain, hangs out with his peers and suffers on account of his love life problems. However, what makes him special and different from his peers are unusual apparitions whose horrifying appearance makes one’s blood run cold, and which he cannot resist in spite of all his efforts.
When his mother reveals to him a secret related to the day of his birth, Alex embarks on an adventure of exploring the mysterious world of his visions, having no idea that he will, by doing that, not only shape the destiny of everyone around him, but that he will also come to realize that the answers to the questions he is seeking have always been there, inseparably connected to him.
That is why the pages detailing Alex’s journey through the labyrinths of the unknown world, dark forests and marshes where all the apparitions from his visions can be discerned, contain a symbolism of their own, reminiscent of Dante’s journey through hell. Thus his wise and resolute guides Anisya and Paul, and even each and every one of the monsters, have their own special place within the framework of the meaning of this seemingly mystical world, which, as time goes by, turns out to be a very familiar one, close to the reader.
